President Obama reiterated his call for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The President stressed the importance of Israelis and Palestinians being able to see the conflict through the eyes of the other.
In his address, the President reminded his Middle Eastern audience about the stark realities of the Holocaust and the sensitivities of Israelis and Jews towards calls for the destruction of Israel. He went on to describe the Palestinian desire for statehood. On the broader scope, the President spoke about the history between Muslims and the United States, current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, current threats in the Middle East including nuclear proliferation and the need for increased women's rights and religious freedom in the Muslim world.
